Zahlreiche Skulpturen und Plastiken, die in den letzten 40 Jahren in Münster ausgestellt wurden, sind heute verschollen oder aus dem Blickfeld der Öffentlichkeit geraten. Darunter auch die begehbare Skulptur der renommierten Künstlergruppe Ohrenfreund oder die umstrittene Sozialplastik des Künstlers Igor Lebedew.

Anlässlich der aktuellen Skulpturenausstellung haben es sich die Initiatoren dieses Projekts zur Aufgabe gemacht, diese Kunstwerke aufzuspüren, zu dokumentieren und, wenn möglich, wieder einem kunstinteressierten Publikum zugänglich zu machen. Gefördert und finanziert wird das Projekt durch die Europäische Potemkin-Stiftung und durch zahlreiche private Spender*innen.
